I'm in a not so much artistic mood this week. yesterday morning I went for a little ride on my bike (about 260miles) and it felt so smooth and soft and I enjoyed my cheap invisible bike so much up and down the forest roads passing everything on the road like a dream on a flying carpet, I can't see why anyone would want to ride an over expensive noisy shaky tractor instead and claim that his has caracter and mine has an dull automobile engine, when all in all, his as faults and mine is a sharp tool to cut the world in half, his is painfully slow and mine is practically fast. I used to dream about bikes with automobile engines in the end of the seventies. kz1300 anytime you want. my front tyre is worn and smooth as a baby's butt now, i hope it can last untill the end of the month. who cares.
today I found on a flea market a pair of brand new belgian army boots! worn only once in 1971 !!. It will take me a few days/weeks to soften them and adjust them to my feets but then they'll be my daily foot ornament for the next 10 years. my older pair of army boots is completely worn out and no longuer waterproof after their own 10 years of daily abuse.
I'm pretty worn out myself today. It took us a 15 hours bus trip in a 44 hours day without sleep to witness ysterday's MOTOGP race in Assen and I only managed to get a 4 hours sleep after all that, but it was truly worth every efforts ! the speed and level of control of these men are simply astounding. and I've seen racing before, but nothing that impressive. when can I do it again ?!
you could say that I did this picture only to get another of my images published by streetracker... you could be right.
this night is the shortest of the year (here anyway). so I try to catch as much sunrises as possible from the window of my office.
tomorrow, we're having our second open door day in the house, expect to see the house full of friends, the garden full of kids, and the fridge full of goods. come in without notice
if you are a speed freak too, join us at www.liveforspeed.be every sunday night. open race throught the summer, then season 5 back in september. (whaa yeah of course I did that promo poster)
it's that time of the year when people start to hit the road and change their habit for a few weeks. I'm not moving. end of the journey, stopped searching. my energy will be spent adapting to the hic e nunc.
projects for the 3 day week-end: watch the sun come up while working, go get some breakfast (I was thinking chocolate croissants for her, maybe smoked salmon or italian ham for me), walk a lot today, ride a lot tomorrow, meet friends, have drinks, see skeptical minds live again. "skeptical minds" rocks :)
*edit* we took this video on sunday's night gig. published with permission. the cello player is my brother's daughter.
last night I won tikets for the "men without pants" show at the beautifull place called le botanique. I knew that they only offer tikets when there's not enough sales. there were twice as much people in the audience that there were on stage. what a shame for what you could consider a super-group. they only played for half an hour but who could blame them. I can say I know the feeling.
i went for a long ride and a long long lonely walk in the woods; it was very romantic. my legs hurt, my butt hurt, I can see a good night sleep coming for a change.
